, start by familiarizing yourself with the car seat’s instruction manual, as well as the owner’s manual of your car. Pay special attention to information about your car’s seatbelt system and how to lock the seatbelt, as this will be crucial for proper installation of the car seat.Here’s what to do next:
- Set the base of the car seat in the back seat of your vehicle, facing the car’s rear. Then, weave the seat belt through the belt path. Be careful to avoid any twisting in the seat belt before you buckle it in and lock it.
- Adjust the base’s angle as directed in the car seat manual or as indicated directly on the seat. Car seats must be reclined slightly to keep the child’s airway open and make breathing easier and more comfortable.
- Firmly press down on the seat base to make sure it cannot move more than an inch in any direction.
