How can I get comfortable driving alone?
I finally got my driver’s license last week, but now I’m kind of nervous about driving alone for the first time. I’m so used to having an adult in there with me! How can I relax a bit about driving by myself?

It can be tough transitioning from always having a wingman to driving solo! Fortunately, with a little bit of practice and these handy tips, you’ll be a pro in no time.
1. Start slow. You don’t have to drive like your grandmother, but don’t immediately hit the five-lane interstates right out the gate either. Pace yourself and get comfortable before jumping into the deep end.
2. Find the right time. If you’re nervous about driving alone, try to schedule your drives to avoid
local traffic
. Choose to drive during off-peak hours until you feel more comfortable.
3. Get comfortable. Driving can be daunting, but it’s more dangerous when you’re tense. Before heading out, adjust your seat and mirrors to your liking, then take some deep breaths. It’s all going to be okay!
4. Tell someone. Being alone in a car can be less scary if someone else knows where you’re headed and when you expect to arrive or return. Just don’t communicate with them while you’re driving.
