How can I find my BMW’s VIN number?

I’m trying to get car insurance quotes, but apparently, I need my car’s VIN. I don't even know what that is. Where do I get my car’s VIN?

“Don’t worry, we have you covered!
To find the VIN—or vehicle identification number—on your BMW, you can check:
  • Inside the door frame or jamb of the front driver-side door
  • On the dashboard near the base of the windshield on the driver’s side
If you cannot locate the VIN printed on your BMW or some of the characters are unclear, you should be able to find your VIN on your car’s registration and/or
car insurance
documents.
VINs are comprised of exactly 17 letters and numbers, excluding I/i, O/o, and Q/q. If you find any numbers that do not fall within those guidelines, then you’re probably not looking at your car’s VIN.
