What is the easiest way to check my car insurance claim history? I am shopping for new car insurance, and an accident I don't remember keeps popping up. I'd like to see what is going on.

Sometimes insurance companies make mistakes, so try not to worry!
All insurance companies pull prior insurance and claim information from C.L.U.E. (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange) reports. If you want, you can get a free copy by calling LexisNexis at 866-312-8076.
Once you have the report and find the accident in question, call your
company and report the problem. After they clear everything up, you can ask them for an updated claims history letter—which will have a record of every claim you’ve filed. The letter is also an official document that can help you get quotes from other providers.
Be aware, corrections to the C.L.U.E. report will take up to 30 days.
