Does your driving record follow you from state to state?

Will my driving record follow me if I move to a new state? I know driving laws are state-regulated, so I was wondering if points on my record from one state will count in another state.

While you’re right that driving laws vary, your driving record will follow you if you
move to a new state
. This is because of the Driver’s License Compact (DLC)—an agreement among most states to honor traffic violations, license suspensions, or license revocations in other states.
Maine, Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, and Tennessee are not members of the DLC. If your license is suspended, you’ll have a better chance of getting a new license in one of those states.
When you have points on your driving record, it can be harder to find affordable car insurance. That’s why you should use the
Jerry
app. Just download the app and answer some quick questions to see a list of competitive quotes collected specifically for you.
