Does undercoating void Ford warranty?
I purchased a brand new Ford F-150 truck and I am going to baby it! My next step is to apply undercoating protection to my purchase. My only worry is, will undercoating my truck void a Ford warranty?

Becoming the owner of a brand new truck is such an exciting event! As for whether undercoating voids Ford warranty, the short answer is no.
Undercoating is the process of adding a defensive layer to the underside of your vehicle to prevent rust and corrosion. It’s best to apply an undercoat to new vehicles as there will be no debris and corrosion under the car. Undercoating is a very popular practice in northeastern states, as snow removal involves the use of extremely corrosive salt that can eat away at your vehicle’s undercarriage over time.
With any aftermarket work on your car—including undercoating—there’s a risk of it voiding the warranty on certain components of your Ford if the aftermarket work causes these parts to malfunction. Check with your Ford dealership to confirm that undercoating won’t void your warranty—or even better, get a written statement from the corporate office to protect you from dealerships refusing any under-warranty maintenance.
