Does the Tesla Model S have Android Auto?

I’d like to get an EV vehicle and I’m interested in the Tesla Model S, but I’ve heard that Teslas don’t come equipped with Android Auto. Is it true that the Tesla Model S doesn’t have Android Auto?

As the current leading EV vehicle manufacturer, you’d think all Teslas—including the
Tesla Model S
—would come equipped with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Unfortunately, Tesla has chosen to not equip their vehicles with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, meaning that if you purchase a Model S, your new EV vehicle will not include Android Auto.
This can be a huge turn-off for would-be Tesla drivers who depend on Android Auto during their morning commutes for seamless and safe access to their smartphones while driving. Thankfully, you can equip your Tesla Model S with Android Auto if you’re sold on the model but would also like to access this tech feature.
There is currently only one solution to Tesla’s Android Auto capability problem. To get started, head over to the Tesla Android Project, where you’ll be directed to buy a host of hardware, download the compatible software from GitHub, and get to work by following the steps on the site’s install guide. You’ll want to be pretty tech-savvy, or recruit someone who is, before starting.
If you’re interested in an EV vehicle that already comes with Android Auto, opt for the
Volvo XC40 Recharge
or the
Hyundai Kona
Electric instead.
