Does the Nissan Leaf have a spare tire?
I’m thinking about switching over to an electric vehicle, and I’ve got my eye on the Nissan Leaf. However, I’ve heard it doesn’t come with a spare tire. Is this true? Does the Nissan Leaf have a spare tire?

Congrats on taking that step toward a cleaner future by purchasing an electric vehicle! Unfortunately, you’ve heard correctly—the Nissan Leaf does not usually have a spare tire.
Like many electric vehicles, the Leaf’s battery pack takes up the space where a spare tire would normally fit. Even with its very respectable 23.6 cubic feet of cargo storage, there just isn’t enough space or any available recess where a spare tire could safely be stored.
That said, the Nissan Leaf does come equipped with a standard tire repair kit. While this doesn’t provide quite as much security as a spare, it will at least help you get to a repair shop safely.
Whether the Leaf’s lack of a spare alters your decision to purchase one or not, you’ll want to make sure you protect your new electric vehicle with quality car insurance.
