Does the Mazda 5 have any active recalls?

I’m wondering what (if any) recalls are out on the Mazda 5?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued five safety recalls on the
Mazda 5
since 2006—with the most recent recall dating back to September 2016. Here’s a closer look at two of the biggest recalls on the Mazda 5:
  • Faulty Hatchback/Liftgate Struts. In certain Mazda 5 models manufactured between 2010 to 2013, the liftgate support struts may be prone to corrosion or have already eroded, resulting in the struts failing or the liftgate dropping without warning. This recall was issued in September of 2016.
  • Faulty Fuel Pump. Some Mazda 5 models made between June 2009 and April 2010 were recalled for a faulty fuel pump. Specifically, the problem lies with the fuel pump’s harness connector, which may not drain properly. Not only does this potentially cause leaks in your fuel system, but it can also corrode your vehicle’s connector pin. This recall was issued in November 2010.
If your Mazda 5 isn’t one of those model years, chances are you’ve got nothing to worry about. On the off-hand chance that you do ever receive a recall letter, the good news is repairs are always free!
