For new vehicles, Kia should provide a rental car. Otherwise, the Trip Interruption Policy component of Kia’s warranty does cover rental cars. However, there are some caveats.
Because your Kia is still covered under warranty, the Trip Interruption expense benefits may apply to you. That said, the warranty-related breakdown must have occurred at least 150 miles from your home, and the repairs must take more than 24 hours to complete. In this situation, you will still need to pay for the costs yourself, but you can contact the Kia Consumer Assistance Center to request reimbursement for meals, lodging, or rental car expenses.
This coverage is limited to $100 per day for three days.
The used Kia warranty offers rental car coverage that covers alternative transportation up to $35 per day for a maximum of 10 days while your vehicle is undergoing covered repairs.
