Does the Ford Fusion Energi charge while you're driving?

Will the Ford Fusion Energi charge itself while driving, or can you only charge it by plugging it in? I read that some hybrids will charge the battery while you’re driving so that you can take long trips. I’m considering the Energi but I want to know if it charges itself first.

Yes the Ford Fusion Energi, like all
hybrid cars
, is able to automatically charge the battery while you’re driving it using gasoline. This allows the car to continue to drive when you run out of electric charge. However, you’ll still need to plug your car in in order to get the battery fully charged.
Charging your car while driving uses your fuel more quickly, since the Energi battery is partially charged by the use of gasoline, and it won’t bring your battery back to 100%. In order to get a full charge, plug in your car when you get home for the night.
