Does the Chevy warranty cover a rental car?
My new Chevy is acting up, but I’m certain the warranty will cover whatever’s going on. What I’m not certain about is how I’m going to get to work if my car has to stay in the shop for a few days. Does the Chevy warranty reimburse rental cars?

There’s no need to add
rental reimbursement coverage
to your new Chevrolet’s insurance policy just yet! The Chevy warranty will cover a rental car while your Chevy is being serviced for a warranty-covered repair!Specifically, Chevrolet will provide alternate transportation or cover certain costs for alternate means of transportation. The warranty only covers these services, however, while your Chevy is being serviced for repairs covered by one of the following:
- The 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty
- The 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty
- The 3-year/36,000-mile corrosion protection
- The 6-year/100,000-mile rust-through protection
- The 2 to 8-year/24,000 to 80,000-mile emissions control system warranty (depending on your model)
Once your warranty runs up, you may want to go ahead and upgrade your insurance policy with that that rental reimbursement. Have no fear!
