There are a lot of perks to owning a compact car. They’re easy to park and maneuver, generally affordable, more environmentally friendly, and great on gas.
However, the Chevy Bolt doesn’t come with a spare tire for roadside emergencies. Many vehicle manufacturers avoid putting spare tires in cars nowadays to save on trunk space and keep the car as light and fuel-efficient as possible.
If a spare tire is a must, you are able to purchase a full spare or a compact spare (commonly called a donut) to keep in your Bolt. However, it’ll take up a significant amount of your minimal trunk space, so it might not be practical for day-to-day driving. Many compact car owners choose to bring a spare with them exclusively on long road trips, just to be extra careful.
Looking for a more compact option? You can purchase a tire repair kit to keep in your vehicle for emergencies. This will take up much less room and is cheaper, too! Of course, you’ll have to be comfortable performing DIY repairs if the situation arises.
