Does Progressive renters insurance cover hurricane damage?
Last weekend, our rental house in Delaware sustained damage from a hurricane. I know our landlord is responsible for repairs to the house, but will our Progressive renters insurance help pay for the items we lost as a result of the hurricane?

policy will help you replace those items depends upon a few factors, such as: - If the flooding was the cause of the damage, you won’t be covered unless you have separate flood insurance.
- If wind damage from the hurricane caused the loss, then your renters insurance will help you buy new items after your deductible has been met.
Speaking of deductibles, hurricane coverage often has higher deductibles than other perils—at least when you live in states prone to hurricane damage, like Delaware.
And before filing your claim, take photographs of the damage. These photographs will be useful to the insurance adjuster.
