Does Michigan require front license plates?

I just got a job in Detroit, and I’m pumped about the move! I’ve never moved to a different state before though, so I’m not sure what I need to do in terms of my car. Do I need to get a front license plate in Michigan?

No—you do not need to get a front license plate in Michigan. Michigan is one of only 19 states that do not require a front license plate, citing a 50% reduction in license plate expenses.
However, you’ll need to act fast to
register your car
and get a Michigan driver’s license, as Michigan offers no grace period once you establish residency. Make sure to put this on the top of your to-do list to avoid fees or penalties.
A driver’s license costs $25 and is valid for four years. Standard license plates cost $5 with additional registration fees that vary by jurisdiction.
Michigan car insurance
is a bit tricky, as it’s a no-fault state that requires
