Does it matter what year I got my license?

“When
car insurance
companies ask the amount of time you’ve been licensed, it’ll be how long you’ve had your full license. Even if you had a permit prior to getting your license, your date first licensed is considered the date you got your unrestricted license.
Car insurance carriers use age and length of time licensed as rating factors. Older drivers or drivers who have been licensed longer are considered less of a risk than a new, younger driver. Your driving experience will correlate with the date you were first able to legally drive alone.”
