I need new gutters on my home. Could I submit a claim to my insurance to pay for them?

“You can only submit a claim to your home insurance if your gutters were damaged due to a covered peril.
If you have an HO-2 policy, damage to your gutters would need to be from one of the 16 named perils. If you have an HO-3 policy, the damage would have to be from something other than an excluded peril.
You can’t submit a claim to your insurance if the damage on your gutters was due to simple *wear and tear. However, if your gutters were damaged due to a covered peril and the cost is significant, you can submit a claim to your insurance.
You will need to contact your insurance directly to confirm that they would cover new gutters. Every company is different. There may be special terms and conditions surrounding your policy.
For more information, you can also look at your policy’s conditions page. It’ll list any exclusions and provide you with any additional details.
And if you want to save a bit more cash to pay for your gutters, you can alternatively look at your
car insurance
policy or consider
