Does home insurance cover falling trees?
We had a really bad storm hit our town last night, and a massive tree branch fell and crushed our shed. We have homeowners insurance, but will it cover falling trees and branches?

Homeowners policies cover damage done to the home itself and its contents, and it should be covered regardless of whether the tree is on your property or your neighbor’s. However, the damage needs to be most likely from a windstorm or any other
named peril
in your policy.An unmaintained or dead tree that falls on your house will be considered a maintenance issue and will not be covered.
