Does home insurance cover electrical problems?

I just purchased my first home. The bank required that I have home insurance to get a loan. After moving in, I realized there are electrical problems. I’m going to have to pay for repairs. Would my home insurance cover the electrical problems?

Many homeowners find unexpected issues with their new homes. While home insurance is incredibly helpful, most electrical problems are not covered unless a sudden and accidental power surge causes the problem.
Since you just moved into your home, it’s likely the electrical problems existed before you had a
home insurance policy
as well. Because of this, you wouldn’t be able to file a claim as home insurance doesn’t cover pre-existing damage or age-related issues.
That said, it never hurts to call your insurance company. An agent can give you more information about your policy and coverage.
After learning more about your policy, it could be helpful to explore your home and car insurance options with
