Does home insurance cover a new boiler?

We have an older home that still has a boiler. We’ve recently been having issues with it. I’m thinking it’s on its way out, but we have home insurance. Would our home insurance cover a new boiler?

It’s good you’re catching your boiler issues now! Your home insurance will cover a new boiler if the damage is sudden and accidental.
Since you have an older home, you’re likely having issues with your boiler due to age and general wear and tear.
Home insurance
policies exclude this from overage as they consider it a homeowner’s responsibility to care for their home and appliances.
That said, if your boiler breaks down due to accidental or sudden tearing, burning, bulging, or cracking you could submit a claim to your insurance.
If you’re not sure what your insurance includes or excludes, you’ll want to review your policy’s terms and conditions or speak with an agent. Either way, you’ll learn what
covered perils
are in your policy and if you can submit a claim.
Now that you’re taking the time to review your home insurance coverage, take a few extra minutes to ensure you’re getting the lowest rate for the coverage you need with
