Does car insurance cover electrical faults?

I’ve just been in a collision, and my car has been acting funny. My headlights won’t turn on, and the dashboard lights are very dim! I’m pretty sure there’s some sort of electrical problem. I know it can be pretty expensive to fix, so will car insurance cover electrical malfunctions?

Well, collisions are no fun, and we hope you’re not hurt—and that nothing is too badly damaged! Coverage for electrical faults isn’t always consistent, and whether you’re on the hook financially really depends on the scenario. However, your insurance company will likely take care of you if:
So, if you’ve been in a crash, and the other party was at fault, you should be covered. You might have to pay a deductible if you file a claim, but you won’t have to dish out hundreds—or even thousands—for repair costs.
Still, there are a couple things you should keep in mind. First, if the damage is only minor, it might not even be worth filing a claim—as the cost of your deductible might be more than the cash value of your repair.
Secondly, you aren’t eligible for coverage if the damage to your vehicle was the result of neglect or poor maintenance. So, if you treat your headlights poorly, leave your car on accidentally, or damage the wiring in some other way, your insurance won’t help you out. You will have to shoulder the repair costs yourself.
Even if your insurance is able to help you out, you should still make sure you have the best coverage possible. You might be happy with your
