Does auto insurance cover damage to someone's lawn?
Who would cover this, my car insurance or their homeowner's insurance? I hydroplaned into someone's yard the other day. I wasn't speeding, didn't get a ticket, and my car isn't even really damaged. But I wrecked their lawn.

The homeowner’s policy may cover the damages to the lawn, but since you are at fault for the damage, they would contact your

carrier to be reimbursed. If possible, have the homeowner get an estimate for the cost of the damage. If it is within your means to pay for the damage out of pocket, it would be best to do so. This way, you can avoid an increase in the cost of your auto insurance policy.
