Currently, Amica does not offer a dedicated car insurance policy for classic or collector vehicles—if you want to insure a classic car, you’ll need to look elsewhere, such as with Allstate or Progressive, both of which offer vintage car insurance through partnerships with Hagerty®.
Regarding auto insurance coverage, Amica’s options are fairly limited. They offer varying levels of liability insurance (bodily injury, property damage, etc.), collision coverage, and comprehensive coverage, but beyond that your options only include:
Medical Payments (MedPay}
Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage
Auto Loan/Lease GAP coverage
Roadside Assistance/Towing coverage
Of course, that’s not to say you couldn’t insure a classic car with an auto insurance policy from Amica—they just don’t offer a unique policy option tailored to older, vintage automobiles, which means you won’t be as protected should something happen to the vehicle. Most collector cars either maintain or increase their value over time, and classic car insurance typically covers a higher agreed-upon value than regular auto insurance.
You’re better off doing business with an insurance company that offers a separate, specialized policy for classic and collector cars, as these are better equipped to handle the unique conditions associated with antique vehicles.
