Does AARP sell classic car insurance?

My siblings and I are considering buying a classic car for my dad’s birthday. He’s owned a few in the past, and he’s always been a fan. I’m pretty sure our parents have a car insurance policy through AARP, and I’d like them to be able to easily add insurance for this gift if they want it. Does AARP sell classic car insurance?

Yes, AARP sells
classic car insurance
(also called collector car insurance) through their insurance partner, Nutmeg Insurance Agency.
Exactly how much you pay for classic auto coverage with AARP will depend on the value of your antique vehicle—as the company determines your policy amount on a car-by-car basis. With one of their policies, classic car drivers can enjoy the following:
  • 24/7 Roadside Assistance coverage that caters to transporting classic cars
  • Discounts on annual premiums with the installation of anti-theft devices on your classic car
  • Discounted rates for taking approved defensive driving/accident prevention classes
It’s important to keep in mind that not every old car will qualify for classic auto coverage through AARP’s insurance partners. To find out whether or not the vehicle you plan on insuring qualifies, you’ll need to speak with a company representative.
