“Automakers often fix problems that have occurred with earlier models, so their newer models are generally better. This means you may get a better car by buying a newer model, but this isn’t always the case. Sometimes new car technology doesn’t work correctly at first, and an older version of the same model would be a better option.
You should always do your research before buying a new or old car, paying close attention to independent testing and reviews.
