Does a 2008 Chevy Cobalt have Bluetooth?

I am looking for a used car with modern features to get me through the next five years or so. Bluetooth is key for my family, but I don’t need a ton of fancy onboard navigation stuff. Does a 2008 Chevy Cobalt have Bluetooth?

No, the 2008
Chevy Cobalt
does not have Bluetooth.
Bluetooth was a new addition to the Chevy Cobalt, starting with the 2009 model. While it is possible to
add a Bluetooth adapter to an older car
, it doesn’t come standard on the 2008 Cobalt.
Adding Bluetooth is simple, and there is a price point for everyone. You can find some wireless receivers that plug into the auxiliary power outlet (cigarette lighter) for between $10-$30. If you want to splurge, have a new radio head unit installed with Bluetooth capabilities for between $200-$500.
It was in 2010 that Bluetooth became pretty standard across all car makes and models. If you’re looking for a used car and you want OME onboard Bluetooth, you might want to confine your search to 2010 and newer vehicles.
Anytime you purchase a used car, especially from a private seller, have a mechanic inspect it before finalizing the purchase—they can let you know if the
used car is a lemon
or a great deal.
Another tip is to purchase
car insurance
before you pick up the vehicle and download your
proof of insurance to your phone
. This will cut down on your paperwork and wait time at the dealership.
