Do you need to pay for electric car charging stations?
Buying an electric vehicle is starting to cost more than I intended to pay. I’m wondering if there are other areas where I can save some money. I know I can charge at home for free but do I need to pay for electric car charging stations?

On average, you’ll find charging stations that will charge by the kilowatt hour. As of this time, individual station owners get to set their charging prices. Even if the charging station carries the same logos as a big brand, like Chargepoint, the property owner gets to decide what you pay.
Your own home will always be the most affordable place to charge. You can take advantage of major retailers like Whole Foods, offering free charging perks. So it may be wise to do your research and plan your trips around as many free-charge points as you can find.
