Do you have to keep your driving license on you when driving?

Are you required to have your driving license with you in order to drive, or can you present it after the fact? Sometimes I forget my license but I’ve never really thought about it until now.

Yes, you’ll need to keep your
diving license
with you when you’re driving. If you get pulled over and you aren’t able to present your license to the officer, you can get a ticket for the offense.
You’ll also typically be required to present your license to your state’s DMV or Secretary of State office within a certain number of days of being pulled over. Failure to do so can result in a misdemeanor charge for driving without a license.
