Do Teslas have spare tires?
I was going to buy a Tesla, but I’ve never had particularly good luck with cars. As such, I want to make sure that it has a spare tire or a tire inflator kit before I buy or hit the road. Do Teslas come with a spare tire?

Teslas don’t come with spare tires, but there’s a good reason for it. **Research shows that spare tires almost never get used, adding unnecessary weight to the car. Second, the Tesla design team wanted to maximize interior space. This means that a spare tire is a superfluous feature that wasn’t included in any model the company has designed.
However, Tesla offers a 4-year, 50,000-mile roadside assistance policy with the purchase of any new vehicle. This insurance covers flat tires, as well as other situations like:
- Breakdowns
- Lockouts
- Loss of charge
- Anything covered under the bumper-to-bumper warranty
Because Tesla service stations are few and far between, this coverage will provide free towing for up to 500 miles, which should be enough to get you to a Tesla service station.
