What happens if I don't tell my insurance company I am a rideshare driver? Lyft asked for me to provide my insurance, but I haven't contacted Progressive directly.

about your new status as a rideshare driver could have serious consequences, including your provider refusing to pay for claims in the event of an accident while using the rideshare app.While rideshare companies offer their own insurance, it generally lapses in coverage if you’re using the app but not actively providing a ride.
To ensure full coverage, tell your insurance provider and consider purchasing
rideshare insurance
