Do I need to add my sister and dad to my car insurance?

My sister just got her permit and my dad isn't licensed. They both drive my vehicle. Do I need to add them to my insurance? Will it increase my rates?

“If either of your family members were to get into an accident while driving your vehicle, your insurance would not cover them. It’s extremely important to add any person who drives your vehicle to your
car insurance
.
That being said, no one should be driving your vehicle if they
don’t have a driver’s license
, and that includes your dad. It is illegal and your insurance wouldn’t cover any resulting accidents.
Since your sister has her permit, your rates may increase due to her age. You should reach out to your current insurance carrier to find out the cost of adding your sister to your policy.
You can also comparison shop. Some carriers don’t charge high rates for new drivers. Depending on the length of time you’ve been licensed, you may be able to find an affordable rate with her as an additional driver. “
