Do I need non-trucking insurance?
Is non-trucking insurance a requirement when you drive a semi? I already have my commercial policy and bobtail coverage. I don't want to have to buy more insurance.

“Understandably, you wouldn’t want to buy any unnecessary insurance. However, non-trucking insurance is a legal requirement for 18-wheelers. Take a look at your current commercial policy; you may already have this coverage.
A standard commercial trucking policy provides coverage for when you are on the clock and hauling your trailer to and from sites. If you were to bring your truck in for servicing or grab groceries on the way home, you are not covered since you are no longer on the clock.
Non-trucking insurance is like what it sounds like: for when you drive your truck but are not actually on the clock. Without this endorsement, you would be driving on the road without any
liability coverage
