Do I need an eye test for a driving license?
I’m getting ready to take my driver’s test next month and I’m getting pretty nervous. I’ve worn glasses almost my entire life. Will I need an eye test before I can get a license?

In nearly every state, you will need to pass an eye test to get your driving license (or to renew it).
However, not all states require you to take a vision test every time you renew your license. For example, in Vermont, you’ll need to renew your driver’s license every four years, but you’ll only need to pass a vision test every other renewal.
Don’t worry—you don’t have to have 20/20 vision to get your license. Depending on your state, anyone with at least 20/40, 20/30, or 20/20 vision when wearing glasses or contacts will pass.
The DMV vision test is typically very simple and straightforward. You can usually expect to read a Snellen eye chart, and you can wear your glasses or contacts during the test.
