Do I need an extra mirror for my driving test?

I’m about to take my driving test for the first time, and I’m so excited! I want to make sure that the car I’ll be using is ready. One of my classmates said something about getting an additional mirror. What mirrors do you need for your driving test?

First and foremost, you’re going to do great! While tests can be nerve-racking, just remember to take a few deep breaths.
To answer your question, you don’t need an extra mirror for a driving test. But by all means, you can get one if you’d like!
You can purchase two types of optional mirrors:
  • A blind spot mirror, which attaches to your side mirrors
  • An internal mirror to help give you a better visual of what’s behind you
Both mirrors are relatively affordable and easy to set up—a trip to the mechanic won’t be necessary.
Your best bet for passing your road test, however, is to remember those
defensive driving
skills you learned about. And if you have any questions while taking your test, just ask—better safe than sorry!
Once you successfully pass your road test, you’re going to need car insurance before you’re legal to drive.
