Do I have to retake my driving test after disqualification?

I had my license disqualified a few days ago. Now I’m worried that I might have to retake my driving test as a result. Is this true?

Disqualification is a term used in the U.K. and Commonwealth countries. But if you’re talking about having your
license suspended
, you usually have to retake your driving test, but only if your suspension was more than six months.
The state assumes that your driving skills deteriorate enough over that time span to require a new driving test. But if you want to get your license reinstated, the test is mandatory.
You may also have to retake the written portion of the driving test to actively qualify for license reinstatement. As a result, you may want to brush up on your knowledge or ask for a rules of the road booklet at your nearest DMV.
Once you have your license reinstated, don’t forget to shop around for car insurance with the
