"Do I have to notify my car insurance company if I move to a new area? "

"I am moving to a new area and my insurance is set to expire at the end of next month. I have heard that rates are higher where I am moving, and I would like to finish out my policy under the current payment arrangement to save a little money. What would happen if I just didn’t tell the car insurance company about the move?

“Under your current car insurance agreement, you are required to inform the insurance company of any change, including a move to a new area. Failure to do so is breaking the terms of your agreement, and this will likely leave you uninsured.
If you were to get into an accident, your insurer would likely find out that you had moved and they could refuse to pay for any property damage or injuries caused during the accident. This would mean a lot of financial and possibly legal trouble for you. It is definitely not worth the risk.
If you notify your insurer now, they will most likely prorate your policy and adjust your premium. Remember that you have the option of looking for
