Do I have to add my spouse on my auto insurance policy?

“With all carriers, spouses must be included in the policy. Since you are married, in some ways, you are seen as “one” person. Since you are married, if she drives your car and gets sued, you are sued too. Having your spouse as a part of the policy protects both people.
That being said, if your wife never drives your car, ask your
if she can be excluded from the policy. By completing a driver exclusion form, your wife would be noted on the policy but not rated for. This means if she were to drive your car and there was an accident, the claim would be denied.
