Do I have to add my 19-year-old daughter to my car insurance?

My daughter lives with me in Knoxville, TN. She has her own policy and car. But my insurance company says I have to prove she has her own policy, or they'll keep her on mine and charge me extra. Is this allowed?

Yes, this is allowed. If you can offer proof that your daughter has her own

, your company will exclude her from your policy and you won’t have to pay more money.

The reason your company is pushing you for proof is that everyone in your household who’s of legal driving age is required to be listed on your policy. This is because they can potentially access your vehicle.
