Do Ford warranties transfer to new owners?

I’m starting to get a case of car fatigue—I want to sell my current Ford to get a new one. The car is still under warranty, so I thought about selling it privately to get more money than I would for a trade-in. Can I transfer the warranty to a new owner?

Fortunately, you can transfer a Ford warranty to a new owner at no additional cost. A
private sale
will always net you more money than a trade-in, and if you still have a warranty, you can drastically improve the resale value of your Ford.
Once you find a buyer, you can transfer the warranty by calling the dealership where you bought the Ford and provide the following information:
  • Your name
  • The VIN (vehicle identification number) of the car
  • The new owner’s name and address
That’s all there is to it!
Since you’re in the market for a new car, you may as well get a headstart on your shopping experience by comparing quotes on the
Jerry
app. In just minutes, you can lower your
Ford insurance costs
and save money for something that’s a bit more fun than car insurance.
