Do electric cars need antifreeze?
I’m thinking about buying an electric car, but I’m wondering how certain maintenance aspects of an electric car might be different from a gas-powered car. For instance, is antifreeze needed in an electric car?

! A big benefit of electric cars is that they usually require fewer fluids to operate than gas-powered vehicles, although most electric cars do require antifreeze.Electric cars generally only require three fluids:
Windshield washer fluid
Brake fluid
Coolant fluid
However, this will also depend on the type of electric vehicle you purchase. For instance, some electric vehicles also need transmission fluid.
Coolant and antifreeze are sometimes used interchangeably, but they are actually slightly different. Most electric cars need coolant fluid to prevent the battery from getting too warm.
But, how often you’ll need to change your coolant fluid in your electric vehicle will also depend on the type of car you buy. You’ll need to consult your owner’s manual for specific rules on the brand you buy.
