Great question! While electric cars are much more economically and environmentally friendly in the city, they do not get better mileage.
Electric vehicles
have different fuel sources and therefore are much more eco-friendly with the emissions—or the lack of them. Mileage—for any vehicle—is an indication of how much the car has been used so stopping and starting in traffic takes a toll on the fuel left, the mechanics of the vehicle, and its mileage.
With electric cars, however, the
regenerative braking system
helps to recycle some of the energy lost in heat back into the battery. The low to non-existent pollution levels, the quick acceleration, and the recyclable braking systems make electric cars the best option for city driving.
If you own a car you’ll need
car insurance
especially if you’re driving in the city.
