do have air filters, but not for the same reasons as gas-fueled cars. With the push to go green and reduce the number of pollutants in the air, electric vehicles are about as clean as you can get. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the standards for the air quality inside the cabin should be high as well.
The primary function of an air filter is to clean the air that circulates through the heating and cooling vents. The filters trap dust and dirt that makes its way into the car. Some electric vehicles have a special filter type that helps maintain the ideal air pressure inside the cabin.
These filters reduce:
- Outside odor
- Sub particles
- Allergens
To keep your electric vehicle at its optimal comfort level, you should change the filters at least yearly.
