I can only imagine the anxiety that this is causing you, and I am so sorry you have to deal with that. To answer your question, driving points can only affect your citizenship status if they are the result of a violation that is also considered a criminal offense.
Most traffic violations—moving and nonmoving—will not affect your citizenship status because they are usually not considered criminal. Here are some examples of violations that are considered criminal offenses:
