Do car seat bases expire?

I just had my second child four years after my first. I’m all about hand-me-downs and spending as little money as possible while my kids can still be safe. As far as the car seat goes, when do the seat bases expire?

Congrats on becoming a mother the second time around! Having
kids while driving
isn’t always easy, especially if you have to juggle kids between car seats. With that said, car seat bases expire after six years in general.
However, this depends on how well you treat the car seat. If you’re meticulous, you can squeeze out a few more years on your car seat base. Just keep in mind that car seat technology gets better every year, so you may want to upgrade when it comes to your second child.
Just like car seat bases, car insurance expires at some point. But you shouldn’t let it go by the wayside. Instead, check out the
