companies depends on where you live, the type of coverage you have, and the insurance company.Most vehicle inspections are only required if you are requesting
comprehensive insurance
and collision insurance
. An inspection can prevent fraudulent claims from being submitted. Insurance companies don’t want to provide coverage for existing damage that occurred outside of the coverage period.In some states, it’s required that insurance companies inspect vehicles once a policy is issued. If you don’t get the vehicle inspected, the policy will be cancelled. If your state doesn’t require insurance companies to inspect vehicles, you may not need to get one.
If you’re unsure, you can reach out to the new insurance carrier to determine if an inspection would be required.”
