Good question! According to recent data, only 1% of the boomer population is likely to be behind the wheel of an electric car.
Not surprisingly, Gen Z are the leading electric car drivers at 18%, followed by Millennials at 11%. And while electric cars have been rising in popularity in the US, the older generations just don’t share the enthusiasm for electric vehicles.
But for the most part, it seems that most of the older drivers surveyed agree there just aren’t enough charging stations in their area yet, or that electric cars are otherwise impractical for their lifestyle and driving habits. So while there are definitely some boomer electric-car drivers out there on the road, don’t expect the number to rise drastically.
