Do BMWs Have Spare Tires?
Every car I’ve ever owned has a spare tire. I bought a BMW a few months ago and I can’t seem to find one on it anywhere. Do BMWs not have spare tires? I thought every car did!

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble finding the spare tire on your

. The reason you haven’t been able to locate it is that it’s not there. Most BMWs do not have spare tires. Don’t panic, though, BMW has come up with a pretty ingenious way of making spare tires unnecessary. Almost all BMWs made in the past twenty years have been equipped with run-flat tires. As the name suggests, run-flat tires are tires that have a stiff sidewall and/or an internal reinforcement system. This allows you to drive on a tire even if it’s flat–for a limited time, of course.
