Do any companies offer renters insurance that covers pet damage?

"I'm apartment hunting, but the problem is that a lot of places want me to declaw my cat. I refuse to do that. Are there renters policies that cover pet damage? If I can get such a policy, I'm hoping to convince a landlord that any damages will be paid for.

In most cases, your liability coverage will cover you for any damage or injuries your pet may cause to others or their property. So if your cat causes damage to the property owned by your landlord, you’d have up to the limit of liability that’s listed on your renters policy to pay for the damages.
