Can you travel by car while in your first trimester of pregnancy?

I recently found out that I am pregnant with my first child and I’m terrified of messing up. Is it safe for me to travel by car while pregnant or do I need to have someone else drive for me?

Congratulations on your pregnancy! While you might feel a little nauseated when you’re traveling, it is safe to travel by car in your first trimester of pregnancy. Just make sure to fasten your seatbelt under your belly to protect yourself and
your baby
.
Once you hit your second trimester, it’s a good idea to stick to the passenger seat. Your belly can get in the way of driving at this point, and you might find yourself getting tired much more quickly. However, you can still safely travel by car as long as you aren’t driving!
