Can you take driving lessons in your own car?
I feel the most comfortable in my own car and think I would perform better behind the wheel if I was allowed to drive it. I’m hoping it’s not mandatory that I drive another vehicle. Will I be allowed to take driving lessons in my own car?

Yes, you can take private driving lessons in
your own car
as long as you have a learner’s permit! You’ll also typically use your own car for the driving exam, so it’ll be good practice to drive your own vehicle up to that point.If you take driver’s ed rather than private lessons, however, you might be asked to drive a car with dual controls. In these kinds of vehicles, the passenger’s side will be equipped with a brake (and sometimes a steering wheel) so that the instructor can take over the car if it looks like you could get into an accident.
